ACMS PTA is completing the final step of our application to be recognized in the National PTA School of Excellence program. To be selected, schools must show a commitment to strengthen family-school partnerships. Through this program PTAs partner with schools to examine areas of improvement, address barriers and create new ways for families to support student success. As part of the process, National PTA requests family feedback at the beginning and end of the school year. Based on your responses at the beginning of the year we implemented an action plan for growth in cultural representation and diversity. Throughout the year we partnered and supported ACMS by finding ways to showcase the various cultures that make up our school community. With the generosity from our parent and student PTA members, and the additional fundraising from ACMS PTA sponsored events, here are a few ways we were able to work on this specific goal:

• Hosted a Multicultural Night during Spring Open House
• Created posts on social media highlighting and explaining holidays celebrated by ACMS families
• Supported ACMS student clubs by purchasing supplies needed
• Sponsored a school-wide assembly & hosted a parent workshop with motivational speaker and licensed counselor, Stephen Simpson
• Offered $100 teacher grants to enhance classroom curriculum

Now it is time for our second survey! We are proud of what we accomplished so far, and kindly ask for your feedback once again. Your responses will not only help us continue to improve, but will provide us with more information as we continue to build upon our efforts to enhance the family-school partnership that makes ACMS so special. Thank you for supporting ACMS PTA's efforts in enhancing our children's learning experiences and supporting our amazing staff throughout this school year!

LISD Board of Trustees called for a bond election to be on the ballot this spring on May 4, 2024, which includes three propositions to address needs related to athletics and recreation, LISD’s two existing aquatic centers, and all five existing high school stadiums.

Early voting ends April 30; election day is May 4.

2024-25 School Supply Packs On Sale

Purchase your all-in-one 2024-2025 school supply packs now through May 20 for $60! Price will increase after that date.

Appreciation Week is May 6 - May 10

We're bringing back Cowboy Chicken dinners for all our staff on Wednesday, May 8. Last year they were a HUGE hit! We are asking parents to pay for/sponsor staff family meals for $30 to cover a teacher and staff members' entire family meal! PTA will take care of the rest. Teachers and staff will pick up dinner before heading home for the night. Deadline for payment is May 1.

PTA is also asking parents to provide snacks & drinks for Friday's snack bar theme day. Click here to sign up.

8th Graders: Leave a part of you at ACMS for years to come!
