PTA Reflections 

ACMS PTA Contact: Arts in Education Chair Dana Giep, reflections@acmspta.org

Reflections is a National PTA sponsored arts recognition program that encourages artistic expression. Students are challenged to use their imagination to create a film, song, artwork, photograph, poem, short story or dance routine. Students can enter as many times as they would like in as many categories as they would like.  

Texas PTA has made participation in the Reflections program a member benefit. At least one person from the student’s primary household must be a current member of their local PTA. If you are unsure if you are a member or need financial assistance, please contact ACMS PTA Membership at membership@acmspta.org or click on the "Join PTA" button under Quick Links on the Home page.  Memberships need to be renewed each year beginning in August.  

Arbor Creek has a wide array of talented students! We hope to see high participation in the program this year.  An ACMS Arts Show and Celebration is planned every year for everyone to showcase their entries!

ART CATEGORIES INCLUDE:

Dance Choreography: Original dance choreographed by the student

Film Production: Original work of fiction or non-fiction in animation, narrative, documentary, experimental, computer-generated, or multimedia

Literature: Fiction or non-fiction in prose, poetry, drama, reflective essay or short story

Music Composition: Original composition using voice and/or instruments in a cappella, blues, choral, country, hip hop, jazz, Latin, orchestral, pop, R&B, rock or any other style

Visual Arts: Original print, drawing, painting, collage, metal etching or punch work, fiber work, or computer-generated artwork

Photography: Original photograph in black and white or color
